Surfer has surgery after losing leg in WA shark attack

Updated June 01, 2016 09:16:32 A 29-year-old man attacked by a shark while surfing off a beach in Mandurah, south of Perth, has undergone surgery overnight and remains in a critical condition. Ben Gerring, a fly-in fly-out heavy machinery operator, lost part of his leg in the attack at a surf spot known as Gearies, off the suburb of Falcon on Tuesday afternoon.
