Andrew Bogut has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, six months after his NBA career appeared to be over.
The Lakers will be Bogut’s fifth NBA team, but the prospect of the former number one draft pick joining the decorated franchise seemed impossible when he fractured his left tibia back in March.
Bogut sustained the injury less than a minute into his debut for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who later waived the 32-year-old.
The Lakers have not released terms of the Bogut’s contract, but it is believed to be a one-year deal worth $2.9 million.
Aside from the Cavaliers, Bogut has played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks in the NBA.
He won a championship with the Warriors in the 2014/15 season.
The NBA season tips off next month.
More to come.
