Boy, 9, assaulted in Balga park

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy has been assaulted while playing with his brother at a park in Perth’s north.

Mirrabooka detectives say the boy and his brother were at the Barry Britton Reserve in Balga about 3.30pm when an unknown man approached them.

As the two boys walked away, the man grabbed the nine-year-old and hit him in the side of his head.

The boy screamed, which scared the man off.

The man is described as being fair-skinned, about 50 years old and 180cm tall with a medium to solid build.

He had medium length grey or brown hair and an unshaven face.

The man spoke with an Australian accent and was last seen wearing a dark-coloured jacket and black rectangular sunglasses.

Anyone with information on the assault should call police.
