EMERGENCY services have ramped up the search for a missing Perth man who was last seen more than a week ago leaving work near Perth Airport.

John Ria Poe, 31, was last seen since leaving the Coles distribution centre on Horrie Miller Drive at Perth Airport about 5.30pm on September 6.

Later that night his vehicle was found outside his sister’s house on Shannon Pass in Bertram, with his bank cards and other personal items still inside.

A section of bushland next to the Kwinana Freeway in Bertram was cordoned off today as mounted police, detectives and SES volunteers searched for Mr Poe.

Mr Poe’s family say his disappearance is extremely out of character.

He is described as 175cm tall, solid build, with short black hair, tanned skin and brown eyes and has band tattoo around his right forearm.

Anyone with information should call police immediately on 131 444.
