DRAMATIC footage has emerged of Tactical Response Group officers carrying out a gunpoint arrest in the middle of a Perth street.
The incident happened around 3.45pm on the corner of Karel Avenue and South Street in Leeming and witness Chanelle Dangla-Cruz said she was shocked to see what unfolded.
The officers had pulled over a gold Holden Commodore.“In the middle of the median strip guns drawn, semi-assault rifles, Tasers to the forehead – it was extremely hectic and really full-on,” she told 7 News Perth.
“I automatically assumed, once realising it was a police operation, that it was a terrorist sting.”
7 News Perth’s Amelia Broun reported that police wouldn’t elaborate on the operation.
“The TRG were assisting one of our specialist units,” Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan said.
“They were doing what turned out to be a textbook piece of work.”
