PIPPA Middleton and her new hubby James Matthews appear to be enjoying an around-the-world honeymoon after the royal sister was spotted on Sydney Harbour today.
The newlyweds, who spent last week unwinding on the pristine beaches of New Zealand, arrived Down Under last night to continue the second leg of their post wedding travels in the Southern Hemisphere.
The couple, who are believed to be staying at the Park Hyatt in Sydney, walked hand-in-hand as they stunned bystanders before boarding a water taxi on the harbour.
After soaking up Darling Harbour by sea, Middleton and her former professional racing driver beau headed to Rose Bay to lunch with pals.
Wearing a white stripy knee-length dress with a black cardigan to keep out the winter chill, Middleton and her hedge fund manager husband gamely waved to passers-by who took double takes when they realised the Duchess Of Cambridge’s younger sister was in town.
Matthews looked smart in a blue V-neck jumper as he chatted to pals on the water’s edge.
An onlooker said: “They looked very much in love and kept giving each other loving glances even whilst talking to friends.”
At sunrise the newlyweds showed no sign of letting up on their pre wedding fitness regime and were spotted enjoying a five kilometre run pointing outlandmarks including the Opera House, Botanical Gardens and Harbour Bridge along the way.
The front of house manger informed them upon their return that the Opera House is lit up at night as part of the annual Vivid lights’ festival.
An insider said: “They came back to their hotel and the manager welcomed them and told them to wrap up at night if they go for a walk as the city gets cold at dark.”
“They chatted about Vivid and ordered breakfast to their room and left shortly after for lunch saying they were catching up with close friends.”
Middleton, 33, and Matthews, 41, made headlines after their wedding was widely televised across the world, costing to the tune of $1 million.
News Corp reported the country wedding included a $69,000 couture gown by designer Giles Deacon, a $173,000 glass marquee stuffed with blossoms so resplendent it outdid the Chelsea Flower Show, a Spitfire fly past, $122,000 dinner, $26,000 cake, $69,000 worth of caviar and A-list guests including Prince William and Harry and Roger Federer.
Now it appears Middleton and Matthews are still splashing out for an equally lavish honeymoon.
Middleton tied the knot with Matthews in front of royal guests.
Among them were her sister Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, with her two children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
