FORMER Spice Girl Mel B has blocked husband Stephen Belafonte from accessing all of their bank accounts.
Brown, 41, put the freeze on her ex after claiming Belafonte controlled her £40million (AUD$66m) finances during their turbulent marriage.
Belafonte, 41, is said to have contacted ex Nicole Contreras — whom he was convicted of assaulting — and pleaded poverty after his cash flow was cut off.
A source claimed: “This has hit Stephen hard.
“Mel has finally pulled the rug out from underneath him and that seems to have left him a bit lost.
“He’s even been back in touch with Nicole moaning about it — insisting it has left him struggling to get by.
“He has had instant access to a fortune for such a long time that he doesn’t seem to know what to do.”
Brown has claimed she was repeatedly beaten by Belafonte during their decade-long marriage and forced into threesomes.
She has now indicated she is not prepared to pay “spousal support” to film producer Belafonte.
But he has filed for an allowance and is demanding she covers his hefty legal costs.
The couple are also set to battle for custody of their five-year-old daughter, Madison.
POLICE RAID STORAGE FOR MISSING SEX TAPES
Brown has been granted a temporary restraining order against her former nanny Lorraine Gilles, after accusing Belafonte of getting her pregnant, The Sun has reported. Both Giles and Belafonte have denied the pregnancy rumours.
Brown reportedly obtained a court order on Monday banning Gilles from “annoying, harassing, molesting and coming within 100 yards” of her.
It comes amid Mel‘s shock claims that her ex-child care worker and her estranged husband had been threatening her since she filed for divorce from the film producer earlier this month.
According to TMZ, the 41-year-old pop star’s lawyer also got permission from the courts to gain access to a storage locker rented by Gilles.
She allegedly believes the sex tapes and raunchy photos of her had been stashed away for future release in a bid to destroy the brunette beauty’s life.
The documents, obtained by TMZ, also said the locker contained boxes and boxes of Spice Girls memorabilia and photos of her recently deceased father Martin Brown.
However, the site claims when Mel, her lawyers and the police turned up at the locker facility, they found nothing.
Brown also stated in her legal papers that she attempted to fire Gilles in January 2015 but Belafonte allegedly went “ballistic” and called her his “ride or die b***h.”
The 41-year-old film producer reportedly threatened to release the sex tapes, which were thought to be in the locker in question, unless Brown rehired Gilles with a raise.
As well as her court case with Gilles, Brown has been locked in a bitter legal battle with Belafonte, with whom she has five-year-old daughter Madison, since last month.
But it looks like the end could be in sight for the pair as the singer is believed to be on the “verge” of offering him £5 million (AU$8m) and giving him a stunning private island – situated in Virginia – which she bought for £1 million (AU$1.6m) for his birthday in 2014, but only if he agrees to a gagging order preventing him from talking about their divorce.
Brown was granted a restraining order against Belafonte last week after she accused him of abusing her, getting their nanny pregnant and forcing her to take part in threesomes.
She alleged the abuse started within the first year of their marriage in 2007 and became a “pattern” for the then-couple.
Belafonte has denied all the allegations against him and has asked for spousal maintenance, and for Brown to fork out for the fees his lawyer is charging to settle the divorce.
