A PARKING inspector is in hospital with leg injuries tonight after he was allegedly struck by a car after a dispute with a motorist in Fremantle.
The driver of a silver Mercedes is accused of running down the inspector after being told to move his car on William Street about 1pm yesterday.
He then allegedly sped away, narrowly missing a second inspector who was trying to intervene.
Police arrested a man after spotting the suspect vehicle in nearby Beaconsfield about 5pm. The driver allegedly refused to stop but was caught after a short chase. A resident of Reuben Street, where police stopped the car, said the driver may have locked himself in the vehicle.
Officers had to smash the window to get him out.
Police were questioning the man last night.
