Serena Williams strips for Vanity Fair

DESPITE the vomiting and enlarged breasts, tennis superstar Serena Williams was certain she wasn’t pregnant.

It was only at the urging of pal Jessica Steindorff did the sporting ace agree to take a pregnancy test in early January — mainly to shut her friend up.

“I’ll take it just because (a) to prove you wrong and (b) because it’s fun, whatever,” she explained in the July issue of Vanity Fair, on whose cover she has bared all. “It’s like a joke. Why not?”

With plans to conquer the Australian Open and Wimbledon later in the year, a pregnancy wasn’t in Williams’ plans. After taking a test as she readied for an event, Williams couldn’t escape the inevitable results.

“I put it down. I went back to finishing hair and makeup, was laughing, talking,” she recalled.

“I was getting the styling done. An hour and a half later, I went back to the bathroom and I totally forgot about it because it was impossible for me … So I went back to get dressed and I went back in the bathroom and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, that test.’”

Williams admitted to doing a double take upon seeing the positive mark on the stick.

“My heart dropped. Like literally it dropped,” she said.

While Steindorff relished the results, it took a trip to the hotel pharmacy and five additional pregnancy tests to convince Williams she was expecting.

Williams’ next step was to tell fiance, Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, the exciting news.

A month removed from their engagement, Williams presented her future husband with a paper bag with six positive pregnancy tests.

Though Williams kept the pregnancy relatively under wraps following her Australian Open victory, she accidentally revealed her baby bump in April via Snapchat.

And while she will miss the remainder of the 2017 season, Williams looks forward to hitting the court with her new fan in the stands in January 2018.

“If you would have told me last year in October or November that I would have a baby, not be pregnant but have a baby, I would have thought you were the biggest liar in the world. This is kind of how I am right now,” she said.

“This is happening sooner than later, and it’s going by so fast.”

Williams and Ohanian, 34, are expected to wed later this year after they welcome their first child.

Williams’ badass Vanity Fair cover comes after she shut down John McEnroe, 58, after he said she would place “like 700 in the world” on the men’s tour.

Williams is a 23-time grand slam singles champion, and currently ranked No.1, while McEnroe clinched just seven grand slams. He is currently promoting his new book.

“Dear John, I adore and respect you but please please keep me out of your statements that are not factually based,” Williams hit back on Twitter.

“I’ve never played anyone ranked ‘there’ nor do I have time. Respect me and my privacy as I’m trying to have a baby. Good day sir.”
