A FATHER says he was only metres away when a stranger tried to lure his little girl into a car in Mandurah.
Tim, who did not want his surname published, says the predator pulled up alongside his eight year-old, who was waiting in the car at a service station, and started blowing her kisses.
The man then asked Tim’s daughter to get in his car at the Meadow Springs petrol station, while the Safety Bay father was inside paying at the counter.
“At first he started waving at my daughter, which I thought was strange. Then he started blowing kisses,” Tim said.
“Chances are if he’s not caught, he may do worse than just blowing a kiss next time.”
Tim then ran out of the station and the man drove off.
“It just sends shivers up my spine,” he said.
It happened last Thursday when Tim went to the service station to buy his eight-year-old an ice-cream.
Detectives believe the man has also been reported for watching young girls play on swings at a Mandurah park.
It’s not the only predator that has police in Mandurah concerned.
Officers are hunting a group of men over an indecent assault of a 16-year-old girl in nearby Halls Head. The teen was walking home alone on Friday when one of the men grabbed her by the wrists and touch her inappropriately at Peelwood Reserve.
The victim managed to run off but she tripped and the men laughed.
No one has been charged over either attack.
