A CAR has collided with a police vehicle after a stinger device helped bring an early morning high-speed pursuit through Perth’s southern suburbs to an end.

At about 1am, police saw a dark-coloured Nissan Pulsar sedan travelling east at high speed along Bertram Drive in Wellard.

It accelerated away as it passed the police vehicle, while officers activated lights and sirens and attempted to stop the car.

The driver did not stop and headed towards the Kwinana Freeway.

The Pulsar drove through several suburbs before travelling over a stinger deployed at the intersection of St. Albans Road in Baldivis.

The vehicle kept travelling south with the right hand front and rear tyres shredding.

Finally, the Pulsar was involved in a minor collision with a police vehicle at the intersection of Grange Road and Matataitai Loop in Cooloongup.

The three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody. Charges have yet to be laid.
