GRAB your ruby red slippers because The Wizard Of Oz is heading back Down Under.
After a whirlwind production in London, the family favourite will arrive at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney on December 31.
Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix will play Glinda (the good witch) and the Wicked Witch of the West, respectively.
The pair, who also starred as Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked, the prequel to The Wizard Of Oz, said they were “over the moon to be performing together again”.
“My character on stage will very much be like the Wicked Witch in the film that we all know and love,” Rix said.
But whereas the Wicked Witch doesn’t sing in the movie, Rix said the audience could expect a spectacular song “about wanting those red ruby slippers and how much she can’t stand Dorothy, it’s absolutely brilliant”.
Producers John Frost and Suzanne Jones are still auditioning for Dorothy.
