FRESH from his performances at the Live Lane Festival and Mullum Music Festival in NSW last weekend, Aussie troubadour William Crighton will be onstage in Darwin for the first time this Saturday as a part of his Stand on the Side of Love tour.
His 2016 self-titled debut album revealed Crighton to be a skilled songwriter and a formidable folk and blues rock performer.
This year has been a busy one for the Hunter Valley-based musician — having released and toured his single Hope Recovery, played at a bunch of festivals and supported The Beach Boys and The Temptations.
He has also recently returned from a showcase at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC and has been working away on his new album in Nashville. To coincide with this Stand on the Side of Love tour, Crighton has dropped a new music video for his track Dig Your Mind, a live crowd favourite that premiered in October.
The tour’s name, Stand on the Side of Love, is inspired by one of the new tracks that Crighton has been working on alongside producer Matt Sherrod on his second full-length recording.
The Darwin Railway Club is Crighton’s last stand-alone stop on his national tour, with his next scheduled performance set for the 2018 Woodford Folk Festival in late December. It will be a great opportunity to catch this acclaimed songwriter and musician in a live setting before he heads back into the studio to finalise his second album. Tickets are $25 and doors open 7:30pm on Saturday.
