Woman arrested at George’s school

A WOMAN was arrested after she broke into the south London primary school attended by Prince George, prompting an urgent review of the exclusive facility’s security arrangements.

The 40-year-old woman is understood to have gained access to Thomas’ Battersea School on Tuesday afternoon, about 2.15pm UK time (11:15pm AEST), where police will allege she attempted to commit burglary.

Prince George, 4, had just started his school year at the co-educational private school, which is rated as one of the best schools in Britain.

A statement released by the Metropolitan police confirmed the woman is now in custody.

“The woman was arrested in the vicinity of the school and has been taken to a south London police station where she remains in custody,” the statement said.

“We are working with the school, which is attended by His Royal Highness Prince George, to review its security arrangements after the incident”.

“Police are part of the protective security arrangements for the Prince and we will continue to work closely with the school, which is responsible for building security on its site”.

It is not known whether the woman had any connection to the school.
